WWE United States Championship Match- The Miz vs. Antonio Cesaro (c)

Cesaro gets the win by way of pin fall.

World Heavyweight Championship (Last Man Standing) Match- Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio (c)

I feel like it is going to be an awesome match with a lot of great spots. However I do feel like Del Rio retains the title.

Del Rio gets the win via 10 count.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match- Team Hell No(c) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

I feel like this could have the makings of a very good match having one of the absolute best workers in the business Daniel Bryan. However I feel like it is not going to be a very long match considering both teams members are participating in the Rumble Match itself.

I have Team Rhodes Scholars winning the match via pin fall and becoming the New Tag Team Champions.

WWE Divas Championship Match- Kaitlyn(c) Vs. Tamina

This match will be a quick 10 minute match and serve absolutely no purpose there was no build up and no storyline what so ever for the match. Therefore I believe this is just a match in there as a filler.

I have Kaitlyn retaining the championship via pin fall.

WWE Championship Match- The Rock vs. CM Punk (c)

I actually believe this is a very good matchup the build to this match has been spot on and I am really excited to see how The Rock and CM Punk work together. The match will be a long 30 minute contest with a lot of near falls and a possible Brock Lesnar interference. I feel like this match most likely does not end clean and somehow CM Punk walks out of Royal Rumble still champion.

The Rock wins via disqualification, CM Punk retains the title belt.

Royal Rumble Match- 30 Participants Over the Top Rope Battle Royal Match

I have two opinions about this match other than the always surprising entrants and the majesty of the match itself I feel like they could go two different ways with this match. Option 1 Dolph Ziggler comes out Number 1 and stays in throughout and wins the whole thing eliminating Cena last. Option 2 Cena enters Number 30 wins the whole thing eliminating Ziggler last.

My final thought Dolph Wins the Rumble.

Those are my predictions for the Royal Rumble PPV tonight I will not be doing a live Blog for the Rumble as I want to enjoy it. However I will have all the final results up with details at the end of the show. Lets see how much of a expert I am with these picks.

WWE Hinting at possible Returns for Rumble?

WWE on January 24th 2013, Posted three new Entrance Videos for Superstars with links on them to the Royal Rumble Page ONE BEING MY ALL TIME FAVORITE The Ultimate Warrior. Royal Rumble is from his Hometown of Phoenix, Arizona this year. The other two that they posted were Val Venis and Hakushi.

More Rumble Surprise Names!

Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison, and MVP are all rumored to be coming into the rumble!

Final Thoughts

In my final thoughts I feel like it was a pretty entertaining Smackdown the matches were deffinately not the best but they were entertaining. Ending was great and the Punk/Rock segment got me pumped for Rumble.

Match of the Night: Sheamus vs. Barrett

Moment of the Night: Tie between Rock/Punk Segment and Big Show/ Del Rio Ending

Worst Match: Orton vs. Drew if you can even call it a match.

Most Over Superstar: Obviously The Rock.

Overall: Good show could have been better, however between both Raw and Smackdown this week I am really Fired Up for the Royal Rumble PPV in less than 48 Hours.

6 Man Elimination Tag Team Match

After the Rumble hype video we get Lillian Garcia announcing that it is now time for the main event. We first get Ricardo announcing out Del Rio first. Out next is Team Hell No, followed by The Rhodes Scholars then followed by Show. I must say Cody's Mustache is absolutely amazing haha. Del Rio and Cody start it off some very good movement from Del Rio. Cody tries to build some offense but only gets demolished by Del Rio. Cody makes the tag to Sandow and Del Rio makes a tag to Bryan. Bryan gets the big offense going with the No/Yes kicks in the corner. Bryan then tags in Kane and Kane give Sandow a huge boot but Sandow takes out Kane's leg and works Kane but Kane reverses and gets Sandow up for a chokeslam and covers Sandow for the 1. 2. 3. Sandow has been eliminated. Big Show makes his way into the ring but Kane puts a beating on him to start off and clotheslines Big Show out of the ring. He goes to punch show but runs into the W.M.D and is knocked out on the floor and Show makes his way back into the ring and the ref counts to 10. Kane has been eliminated Big Show says "that is whats going to happen to you" to Del Rio. Big Show tags out and Bryan Makes his way in its Bryan and Cody. Bryan and Rhodes trade blows and trade control of offense they then hit double cross body blocks and Cody tags in Show Bryan starts hitting show with No kicks. Bryan then starts working offense well and then as he gets tossed over the top skins the cat and makes his way back into the ring Show hits D-Bry with a W.M.D and out he goes for a 10 count. Bryan has been eliminated. Now it is Del Rio vs. Show and Cody and show hits Del Rio with W.M.D but Del Rio gets up before 10. Show now goes outside and attacks Del Rio throws him back into the ring. However as show makes his way into the ring Del Rio kicks Show in the head and has him hung up on the top rope then gives him one more kick to the side of Show's head out goes show for a 10 count. Big Show has been eliminated. Cody runs in and tries to cradle Del Rio for a count of 2. However Del Rio takes full offensive and takes Cody Rhodes out. Si! chants break out as Del Rio kicks Rhodes in the side of the head with the jumping corner kick and flips Rhodes over and Del Rio wins.

Del Rio and Team Hell No win Via Elimination

However Big Show after the match attacks Del Rio inside the ring with a spear and then Show takes him out to the floor and gives him a W.M.D at the announce table and pushes the table over on Del Rio and then counts to 10 to prove he will win the title at Royal Rumble. BIG SHOW SUCKS! chants ring out as Show redoes the count in Spanish and Show's music hits. Show ends with medical attention comes to Del Rio's aid.

Segment

We come back from commercial and we get one of the new Royal Rumble by the numbers Hype video. I absolutely love these videos if you get a chance go to WWE.com and check it out because it really is an awesome video.

Darren Young vs. The Miz

We come back from commercial with PTP in the ring doing the Millions of dollars dance. Cesaro is on commentary for the match to hype up the United States Championship match at Royal Rumble. Titus O'neal with his whistle outside the ring is great. Darren Young takes Miz down and holds him in a reverse chin lock. Young gets all over Miz in the corner but Miz reverses and Miz takes control in the corner and hits Young with the corner clothesline. Also kicks Titus in the face. Miz then goes for Skull Crushing Finale Young reverses Miz then gets Yound down and puts him in the Figure 4 leg lock. He then makes his way to the apron and starts to yell at Cesaro where in return Cesaro gets up on the announce table and waves the American Flag proudly. On commentary Cesaro also stated that the Figure 4 is such a great move and he is mad that is has to be murdered by the Miz. I completely agree with that statement especially now that he is using that as his finisher.

Miz wins via Submission.

Quick match but pretty good I don't know why but I just can't enjoy the Miz at all.

Randy Orton vs. Drew Mcintyre

YES! YES! YES! some 3MB rocking out time it is my favorite haha! So Orton will go one on one with Drew. Drew starts off strong and gets on Orton and yells 3MB. however then Orton completely takes over the match and Jinder Mahal slides in and gets and RKO Orton then apron DDT's Drew. Slater then runs in and Orton ducks his clothesline and gives Slater a great RKO. Then gives Drew a RKO for good measure and that about wraps that up.

Orton wins via disqualification.

Match was about 1 minute before run in pretty lame.

Punk Segment

Out comes Punk and Heyman with significant heat literally getting booed out of the arena. Punk states that he is scared and cant sleep at night and says he is afraid of his own potential. He is talking about how the WWE is just a surface he has begun to scratch at it and that that is terrifying.  He says that one thing can set all that up in smoke and that is......... Fans start to chant Rocky! Punk says no not him The SHIELD because of the stipulation that McMahon has put on the match. Heyman then goes over the letter that the Chairman has sent him telling him if The SHIELD interferes he will be stripped. Punk talks about his 432 day title reign and that Vince wants to steal the WWE title from him. Punk said he is going to fix that from happening. He calls out The SHIELD and says he is going to clear the air and he said they are out there in their little clubhouse hanging out. Here comes SHIELD  through the crowd with entrance music. Punk grabs a chair and holds it in hand as the Shield enter from 3 different sides of the ring. Punk begins to speak and says he never asked them to attack Rock or to attack Ryback or that he has never asked them for anything in his life. He then tells them to stay out of his way. He said they fight injustice then he said there would be no bigger injustice than them costing him his historic title reign. Also how beating the Rock is the biggest victory of his career. He said he doesn't need their help and that he never wanted it. They all just look at one another as ROCKY! chants break out and finally the SHIELD members leave the ring and go back through the crowd and go away. Punk and Heyman stand in the ring and Punk says that is how the CHAMP takes care of business. Once again stating that he can do that because he is the best in the world. He then starts jumping all over the Rock and states that he is inferior to CM Punk. Then states that he is the Greatest of all time. THE ROCK's music hits and out comes ROCKY. Sacramento explodes as the Rock makes his way to the ring and raises the fist. Punk holds the title in Rock's face as the Rock walks right by him and raises the fist. Rock asks for a Mic as Punk still holds the belt in hand. Rock says he is going to put an end to Punk's garbage right now calls Punk a liar and that Punk is working for the SHIELD however The Rock said that he doesn't give a damn because Sunday he is sticking his boot straight up Punk's candy ass. Rocky chants ring out Rock says Punk will panic and crack and Rock says when that happens he will hook him with a Rock Bottom he said that he will have one thought left when he gets him up and that thought is it's over. He says he promised the world that he would become WWE Champion and just like that its over If You Smell What The Rock is Cookin. Rock's music hits and walks off Punk puts his hand on his head and looks genuinely nervous but still holds the belt high above his head.

Up next Orton in action vs. a competitor to be named.

Natalya vs. Rosa Mendes

Out comes the dumbest grouping of wrestlers ever Natalya, Khali, and Hornswaggle. We are told there is going to be some Divas action coming up after the break. Out comes Rosa Mendes and she is dancing. Match starts of with Natalya working Rosa well however slowly but surely Rosa starts to build some offense. Rosa put Natalya in a very nice surfboard submission. Natalya breaks out of it and hits a clothesline and then goes for the Sharpshooter. However Rosa gets to the ropes. Whole time this match is going on we have Primo and Epico also Hornswaggle and Khali on commentary. Rosa takes Natalya down but spends to much time dancing and then Hornswaggle gets on top of the announce table and starts to mock Rosa she gets pissed and goes over to the ropes. Natalya then takes full advantage of the situation and pulls Rosa down and puts her in the Sharshooter Rosa taps out.

Natalya wins by way of submission.

About the best a Diva's match is going to be I really feel like if they give Natalya a push she can be a great Diva's Champion.

Next up on Smackdown Punk calls out SHIELD.

Segment

Josh Matthews and JBL send it off to a video package of what happened on Raw between the SHIELD and The Rock. Good use of effects during the scene as well. We see Rock get Superbombed by Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose. It also shows Rock spitting up blood and shows Punk saying that at the top of the mountain there is only room for one man the best in the world. Then it gets into the Rock being here on Smackdown. Then we have a cutscene that shows Punk and Heyman talking.

Next Segment

They will show us what the SHIELD did to The Rock on Raw and shows us a preview of the 6 man tag main event.

Sheamus vs. Barrett

They show highlights from Raw's beat the clock challenge match and shows how Sheamus could not beat the clock. Out first we have Sheamus he gets a pretty good pop from the crowd nothing special crowd seems a bit dead. Out next we have Wade Barrett and he comes out to a very good heel reaction he is a very good heel and Intercontinental Champion. Bell rings and here we go Barrett starts the offense off but Sheamus reverses and gets Barrett into a corner. Barrett comes out of the corner and Irish whips Sheamus but Sheamus reverses. Wade Barrett hits a sweet dropkick and starts to pile on the offens as Sheamus is down. However, Sheamus bounces up and takes Barrett down again. Sheamus sends Barrett into the ropes and goes for a Brogue but Barrett gets out of the ring before. Sheamus then goes outside and gets Barrett back in the ring however Sheamus stays on the Apron and begins to do the chest clubs. Barrett reverses with a sick boot to the head of Sheamus and out to the floor goes Sheamus. Commercial Break however I have WWE Active so pretty much just a lot of offense from Barrett. Barrett hits a very good pump handle slam and then goes for a cover but only gets a count of 2. Sheamus finally starts to build some offense but Barrett clotheslines Sheamus to the floor Sheamus stays on the floor till a count of 7. Barrett uses some sick knee strikes as Sheamus hangs over the ropes ref breaks them up and Barrett going back gets diving shoulder blocked from the apron. Now Sheamus takes full control and clothelines Barrett over the top and Sheamus starts to give the clubs to Barrett's chest. Sheamus then hits Barrett with the Firemans Roll and then Sheamus gives Barrett the Irish Curse Backbreaker. Sheamus then makes a big decision to go to the top gets thrown off by Barrett. While Sheamus is on his knees Barrett gives him a side kick to the face and goes for the cover count of 2. Sheamus then regains control hits White Noise and then calls for the Brogue and hits Barrett in the face with a Brogue Kick and covers 1. 2. 3.

opening segment

They do a video package about the hugging segment from Raw last week. Kane gets a microphone and says that he is going to convince everyone that himself and D-Bry have not gone soft. Because Kane said that after they beat Team Rhode Scholars that Kane himself will win the Royal Rumble match later in the night. Daniel Bryan firmly disagrees and says that he will win the Royal Rumble match. They get into their little spiel and out comes the Big Show. He says that no one cares about your plans and that they both only have a 1 in 30 chance of winning the Royal Rumble. But that he has a 100% chance of taking the title off of Del Rio. Daniel disagrees and says I beat you for that title. Big Show gets pissed and says if you don't get out of his ring that he will crush both of them. Kane says they are not bugs and that they are the Tag Team Champions. Daniel then says that in other words "No! No! No!". Out comes the Rhode Scholars and Sandow talks about how they should not underestimate team Rhode Scholars. And that their win this Sunday will be of biblical pre portions. Sandow proposes an alliance between them and Big Show. They then say they should decimate Team Hell No.......... Del Rio's music hits and out he comes with Ricardo. It looks like we are going to have a 3 on 3 tag match because out comes Booker T. As predicted Booker T makes tonights main event and makes a Team Rhode Scholars and the Big Show vs. Team Hell No and Del Rio, however there is a stipulation it is a 6 man tag elimination match. Big Show tries to attack Del Rio before leaving the ring Del Rio kicks his leg out and Show hits the turnbuckle. He then says Show and winks and blows a kiss as the crowd chants "Si! Si! Si!" Tonight we will also have the SHIELD getting called out by CM Punk. Also The Rock will be in attendance. But next we have Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus.

Smackdown Opening!

Smackdown opens up with a little video package about what happened to The Rock by the hands of the SHIELD. They talk about how Punk has a bold ultimatum if The SHIELD interferes with Punks match that Punk will be stripped of the title. Then it goes into the World Heavyweight Championship Match and how it will unfold for Rumble.

Intercontinental Cup?

According to Sescoops.com, Starting next week, Six WWE superstars will compete in a Intercontinental Cup to decide who the number one contender for the IC title will be. I for one am really excited about this mainly because I am a huge fan of the Championship tournaments. Hopefully it goes off with a bang who would you like to see in this Tournament?

Suprise Rumble Entrant Taken Out of Rumble!

In an interview with Jerry "The King" Lawler, Jerry said, “I do know that they had contacted Rikishi, but he had a prior commitment that he could not get out of. My son Brian told me that it was just a commitment he literally could not get out of even though he really wanted to [be in the Rumble],” Lawler said. 

But however as the interview rolled on he did say, “The Royal Rumble has become our next biggest and most fan-favorite pay-per-view. It’s so unpredictable. I know for a fact, I don’t know who it will be, but there’s always some surprise entrants. There will be some people that you didn’t have a clue they were going to be involved in the Rumble.”

Tonight

Tonight I wil be live blogging about WWE Smackdown I will be blogging the results and then I will blog my overall thoughts on the go home show to Royal Rumble and give the show a grade so stay tuned and make sure to check back tonight around 8 P.M. Eastern Standard Time!

Just a thought!

I was looking at a wrestling website tonight and they brought up a scenario for the Rock vs. Punk match at Royal Rumble and they said that it would be awesome if Punk loses the title to The Rock but then enters the Rumble and wins the Rumble. Now as I know this most likely will not happen because of the almost certain Twice in a Lifetime match or Rock vs Cena 2 is most likely going to headline Wrestlemania again this year. But as that was an awesome thought about what WWE could do with Punk if he does lose the title at Rumble. I would be completely for it and I think it would put a twist on everything however I still believe as my good colleague and friend Jonathan Marrero believes that Cena will walk away winner of the Rumble match and challenge The Rock at Wrestlemania.

Wade Barrett Spoils a Rumble Return?

WWE superstar Wade Barrett may have spoiled one of the famous mystery entrants in this years Royal Rumble as Wade tweeted, "Just bumped into Papa Shango at Hooters. Told me he's entering the @WWE #RoyalRumble this year. Can't wait, one of my faves."  Honestly if this is the truth I am NOT excited about this entrant at all. The only way I will be excited is if he brings the HOE TRAIN along with him. Other than that this is not cool to me at all.

Just a little rundown about what we do here at This is Wrestling. We are a source unlike no other and we keep up with all the news and breaking stories within World Wrestling Entertainment. So to start off my name is Jarid Encarnacao, and I have been an avid wrestling fan since the tender age of 5. I have just recently in the past 3 years recovered what I had missed in wrestling and I am now more adamant about it than ever.
